Caucasian, USA A bit about me In SL I tend to be into breedables. I've had horses, kitties, bunnies, dogs and now I have Meeroos. So far the Meeroos beat all of them by a long shot. SL wasn't my first experience in a "virtual world". I played There.com for about 3 years (where I met Carmsie). Did everything there was to do There, got bored and came to SL. I enjoy exploring and meeting new people when I'm not messing with my roos. The most embarrassing/silliest thing I ever did in SL... hmm...I can't think of one thing off the top of my head. Other than accidently getting undressed in front of people when I first was learning about SL and trying to change clothes, but I think everyone does that at one point or another. Daydream Island is... A beautiful place to hang out in, meet wonderful people or just have fun. Wish I could be there more often. My SL rez (birth) date 3/29/2009 My message to others in SL is ... There are many awesome things to do in virtual but it is so easy to get caught up in SL and lose track of RL. Make RL a priority!!! I have young kids in RL and you can't get the time back you lose in SL when they are young. Real life nationality
United States - American A bit about me I have been involved in Online Internet Virtual Worlds for about 15 years or so. I came to SL in 2006 following an article about it on the radio. When not at work in my real life you will probably find me here. I am in my 40's and sometimes that means I am old and sometimes that means I am still young...depends on whom it is you ask. I am a world traveler. I have been to Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Croatia (when it was called Yugoslavia), Israel, Egypt, Libya, Singapore, Diego Garcia, Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas. I have also been to 46 of the 50 United States. The funniest thing I ever saw in SL... I always find SL bugs to be funny, like the old "shoes up the butt" with your "hair on your ass" bug. Daydream Island is … a BEAUTIFUL Romantic getaway that offers a serene place for lovers and others that want to relax and get away from it all. I think Second Life is … Addictive...LAUGHS. It's a nice place to live and meet people from all points of the world. My SL rez (birth) date 10/25/2006 My message to others in SL is … Wow, I guess I have 2 pieces of advice for others in SL: 1) Put everything you get in folders, or you will never find anything. 2) I don't care what anyone says.... this is a real person controlling this avie, with real emotions.... this is not "just a game". You will touch people here emotionally, spiritually and intellectually. The only thing missing is physical touch. What does that mean? It is impossible to keep RL and SL separate. I have laughed, cried, I fell in love and grieved here...don't tell me it is only a game. In SL I usually hang out with people who … Stimulate me........ In SL I get really annoyed by … Griefers...and Lag Real life nationality
English A bit about me... Im an SL Educator. I lecture in Earth and Planetary Sciences for the Science Circle. In real life I'm a qualified Geologist and Geophysicist that works in Archaeology. (Note from Carmsie: He's brainy!) The most embarrassing thing I ever did in SL… ... now that would be telling *winks* Daydream Island is … ... and always will be my SL home. Full of wonderful and special memories. I think Second Life is... An amazing world where we can make our dreams come true and meet wonderful, amazing people from all over the world. My message to all others in SL is... Be yourself and enjoy SL but never forget there are real people with real feelings behind these avi's (avatars). Please be nice. In SL I usually hang out with people who … Are intelligent, fun to be with and who are always their true to themselves. In SL I get really annoyed by … People who think it's ok to mess around and ruin other peoples enjoyment. IT ISN'T AND IT NEVER WILL BE. Thanks to... Almost a year ago I came to SL as a complete newbie; I'd never ever been in a virtual world. I found Daydream Island in my very first week and met this amazing lady who just about adopted me and taught me everything I needed to know to begin to enjoy and explore this amazing world. That lady's name is Carmsie Melody. Carms, your my SL big sister and I love you dearly. Thank you with all my heart for your kindness and for making SL not quite such a scary place. (Note from Carmsie: Awwwww it was my pleasure Astro) And thank you too to SL. I came here with a life-long dream to teach and share and now my dream has come true :))) ! wish you all peace, harmony and brightblessings. Real life nationality Romanian A bit about me Almost 30 years old, I love music and my books. My best friend ever is the sea. And I'm a turtle :) The most embarrassing thing I ever did in SL… Hehehe appearing naked to others, but not to me. Sending naughty thoughts in the wrong IM :D Daydream Island is … My home. Thank you Carmsie :) I think Second Life is … An extension of our life. My SL rez (birth) date June 18, 2010 My message to others in SL is … Be honest, always. Be who you are, not who you want to be. Honesty and values are what make us human. Keep smiling! :) In SL I usually hang out with people who … I love people who make me laugh, people who can talk about stuff other than pixelated sex. In SL I get really annoyed by … LAG!!!! and noobs, sometimes :P Real life nationality
Australian - Oi Oi Oi A bit about me in SL I’m often inworld when not at work in real life. I love it here - who can beat dancing like a pro without ever taking a lesson!? My favourite things are socialising (I have a long Buddy List!), fashion, landscaping, music, art and creating stuff. I’m the proud owner of Daydream Island and a Marketplace store called Pixel Bits. I also established the Daydreamer Group so that Daydream visitors could meet, chat and form a friendly community. Lately I'm having fun blogging on this site. I'm known as 'Sainty' because I don't have an SL boyfriend but I'm not a prude - I enable others to find love at Daydream! :) The funniest thing I ever did in SL I once accidentally covered the entire ground at Daydream Island with a male chest texture. There were nipples and chest hair as far as the eye could see! Haha! My message to people in SL is … The only thing real about SL are our feelings, so respect for each other is more important than anything else. Daydream Island is ... Daydream Island is my place to feel happy and, hopefully, it makes others happy too. That is my daydream... I'm so excited everyone! Daydream Island is now featured on SL's Destination Guide. So what's the big deal? This is how Second Life's Wiki describes the Guide ... The Destination Guide highlights some of the best in-world locations and resident creations. For new and existing Residents alike, this is the place to go to explore and discover what's most exciting in Second Life. Venues and content featured in the Destination Guide are not paid placements and we keep the listings fresh with regular updates, so check back frequently! In other words, it's not easy to get listed. You need to be 'discovered' and then deemed to be one of the best. And Daydreamers we have been chosen. Wooohoo! To view Daydream Island's listing on the Destination Guide click here. I added a comment on the page that all Daydreamers should read. Feel free to add your own too! :) There once was this lady and at one point in her Second Life she met an incredible guy. They spent some time together and then one day they realised that they both kinda liked each other.
They continued to spend a lot of time together, getting to know each other and soon they realised that they fit so well together that to deny themselves of the other would be foolhardy. And they kissed, but this kiss was like no other kiss ever known to man, this kiss caused time eternal itself to stop for the period that their lips touched. Though there was something more than just that kiss in there. Each of them now realised that they did truly like the other, but neither of them wanted to admit that they loved the other. They struggled to keep from sharing this with the other, but as you probably already know, love, true love, always wins. They then decided to follow the same path and see where it will lead them... But I am sorry, this story doesn't have an end, as they still walk that path together. Winks ;-) I was recently away on a business trip. As soon as I arrived home I raced to the computer/SL. It was unusually quiet at Daydream Island when i arrived but a long-time friend soon turned up. He's funny and interesting but underlying his hilarious exterior is someone who has suffered in real life - death of loved ones, divorce and more. This guy can turn up in a friendly mood but I have also seen him vicious and angry. Beneath it all, regardless of his mood, I know there thumps a heart of gold. I have learned to go with the flow and when good people are behaving strangely I think to myself, "That's the way their mop flops today."
Sometimes we need patience in Second Life. We need to give others time to beat their own drum ... even if it's loud or confusing or off beat, even if it's offensive (within reason). SL is an odd place and it attracts many types. Some people are in SL to free themselves and escape from the things that have hurt or frightened them. Patience, a good listening ear, empathy and a little bit of love can go a long way to helping. Your care might impact someone's 2nd life and their real life. It's well worthwhile giving it a try. That does not mean to say we need to waste time on griefers, losers, perves or stalkers. It does mean that our our hearts should go out to those we feel intuitively deserve more of a chance. These people, even if they first seem annoying, are often diamonds in the rough. Some of my dearest friends in SL today are avatars that I had the urge the 'block' when we first met.
